John Griffin, Founder and Principal of Tanshell Holdings

John Griffin founded Griffin Construction and Development in 1969 and has been the cornerstone to its meteoric rise. Pioneered by him, Griffin Construction and Development, being a part of Tanshell Holdings, is developing international quality architectures in Australia. Griffin Construction and Development is now credited among Australia?s finest builders and developers.

Early Years

Since childhood, John grew up to be a tenacious, intelligent, and hardworking young man. He completed his apprenticeship in carpentry and deepened his knowledge by studying more about building science; then after, his dedication towards construction industry lead him to complete major renovations in Sydney, whilst owning a successful joinery shop.

After mastering the skill of trade, he achieved his first milestone in 1971 by purchasing a development site and transformed it into an alluring complex consisting 6 homes.

Going International

In Sydney, John showed a great deal of skill in building and construction activities and ran his business successfully for ten years. However, John?s vision was not restricted to only Australia. John then moved to London where he joined a medium sized renovation company and sharpened his construction skills. John Griffin?s confidence and construction skills were tested when he completed many potential contracts in London, both in the private and government sector. John has displayed exceptional leadership and trading skills internationally by planning and developing marvelous architectures in South Africa and England. In South Africa, John made good use of local opportunities and completed a wide variety of development projects, ranging from low cost residential estates to luxurious residential projects.

Back Home

On returning to Australia, John started by focusing on development opportunities in Hurstville by developing medium density residential and commercial properties. John was also honored as Deputy Mayor for Hurstville council and was a proud founder of the Georges Riverkeeper programme.

Adam Griffin, Director

Adam Griffin, son of John Griffin, has joined his father?s business ventures after completing his studies in South Africa. Riding on rich family heritage, Adam is now directing Tanshell Holdings along his iconic father. He is dedicated to growing his fathers legacy.

Adam graduated from the University of Cape Town by completing B.Sc. with specialization in Environment & Geographical Science, Ocean & Atmospheric Science and Economics. He is also a certified SCRUM Master, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, PRINCE 2 Practitioner, Certified Business Analyst (BABOK) and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration.

Adam is leader with a proven track record of success in various sectors from Construction to Pay Television and Media. His major corporate milestone includes serving as
